OxEd Approved by Montana Board of Public Education on List of Approved Evaluation Methodology Screening Tools
LanguageScreen and ReadingScreen approved as oral language and reading screeners for use in PK-3.

The Montana Board of Public Education have included OxEd’s LanguageScreen and ReadingScreen in its 2024 list of authorized language screeners. Looking for research-based and developmentally appropriate programs to support their students, the Board recommended OxEd assessments for children in Pre-K through third grade.
LanguageScreen is an oral language screener to assess oral language delays, track progress, and identify those who may benefit from targeted intervention or specialist support. A quick, efficient school-based assessment, the Montana Early Literacy Advisory Council describe LanguageScreen as “a fast, fun, and intuitive app for teachers.”
ReadingScreen is an assessment of word and nonword reading to identify students requiring extra support to develop decoding skills. When a child is assessed with both LanguageScreen and ReadingScreen, the results are automatically plotted on a graph representing the Simple View of Reading to identify the nature and extent of any possible language or reading difficulties.
We are excited to see the positive impacts LanguageScreen and ReadingScreen bring to teachers and students alike in Montana classrooms. You can see the full list of approved screeners here.
